When I was a little kid, I had a “library” of my own. Since my father was a professor in a famous university, he had collected a lot of books and they were all the treasures of my life. I began to read these books at a very early age and I didn’t even choose what books I wanted to read—I just picked up any book from the “library” and began reading besides the bookshelves. So I had a wide range of interests from detective stories, love stories to history, mysteries and even to physics and astronomy.
And thanks to these books I had read in my childhood, I began to form a very solid basis on literature. Even when I was at primary school, my teachers appreciated my essays and as to my school, I began publishing my works in local papers. Then I entered a very famous college and majored at literature. After the graduation, I finally had sought a job as an editor in a national magazine. But when I wanted to read books, even the bestseller of the latest season, I still went back to my parents’ house to look for books.
But unfortunately, my parents’ house was accidently on fire one night. Luckily they both were not at home that night but all the book collections of my father’s were ruined - they all had been burnt into dust. My father and I both were very sad since those books were like a part of our lives and we cannot live a day without them.

After the accident, my father stopped collecting books any more. He said he was too afraid to lose any more. He could not bear the sadness of losing his beloved collections. What’s more, the book collections in his university were large enough to give him whatever he wanted to read.
So I had to start buying books myself. And only then did I find out that buying books could be such a big daily expense. Sometimes I even thought that I could not afford buying books any more. But luckily, one of my friends told me that I could download TXT books from the internet and read them by my cell phone! Downloading these TXT books was so cheap and I could even read them whenever and whatever I wanted to read only if I had a cell phone! What’s more, reading TXT books can also save a lot of trees from being cut down and thus the environment could be protected.
From then, I became a big fan of E-books and now there is library in my computer!
