Summary: avoiding insensible shopping is the golden rule to save your money. However, that don't mean that you should stop enjoy doing that. In fact, under the precondition that you enjoy the happiness brought by shopping, you can save your money as well.

Girls are born shopaholic. The difference is some people can restrain its inner desire while someone cannot. The key for a success shopping is to spend it on necessary things that worth its price.

1. Do I need this?

Most of the people have such an experience that they feel regret after they purchasing something. And in case of that happen to you, the first thing you should do is to ask questions to yourself. Do I really need this? In what occasion, can I use it?

2. Does the product worth the price?

Remember this, if the product is not a piece of handcraft, DIY work, old thing or luxury brand, then it will never be a unique product, which means that, you can find it somewhere else. Just like the charges for cola in different supermarket may vary, the price for the same product in one shop and another vary as well.

3. Do I have to buy it now?

If you get two yes-saying on the aforementioned two questions, then ask yourself this one. Usually, when you see a product at the first sight, you think it’s fabulous; the second time you think it's quite good; and the third time, it's good, but a little bit expensive. A regretful shopping occurs when you make decision too fast. So think more a while helps you to save your money.

4. Can I afford it?

Here I mean your deposit account while not your credit account. You should guarantee that on buying this product, there is no any influence to your life quality. Never save your money on living expense and spend it on a luxury. Never buy expensive thing through your credit card account.

5. How often will I use this product?

This is a question that most people will neglect. For example, here are a t-shirt that charges for 50 dollar and a piece of on sale evening dress that only charges for 30 dollars, which one will you choose. For me, it will be of course the former one. Exactly, it’s an expensive t-shirt, but I can at least wear it once a week, that means at least 54 times a year. However, there hardly has a chance for me to wear evening dress, maybe no more than 5 times a year. Thus, the average price for the t-shirt is much lower than that of the evening dress.

6. Can I save money if I purchase it online?

As I mentioned in the second tip, most of the things that we purchase are mass production. Try search the item you want to buy online, and may be you can find a bargain. And if you want to enjoy the free shipping in online shopping, then try to persuade your friends buy things together with you.  More money saving on online shopping, see Online Shopping 101.
